Natural Habitat Guides Top List of Best in Galapagos
At Natural Habitat Adventures, we pride ourselves in our commitment in to excellence in service on all of our trips, and our devotion to wildlife conservation as an organization. This is evident by our exclusive partnership with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) among our many efforts. And nowhere else is this perhaps more evident than on all of our amazing Galapagos Islands adventures.
That’s why we couldn’t be more honored to hear that as a result of a recent International Galapagos Tour Operators Association (IGTOA) spearheaded tour guide training, three out of the top 10 guides in the entire Archipelago work for Nat Hab! Those 10 were selected out of roughly 600 guides to become certified as Guide Trainers last year. We were so happy that our guides were able to participate—and excel—in this historical first in the Galapagos Islands. So hats off to Gustavo Andrade, Josy Cardoso and Ceci Guerrero, and to all of the amazing guides who work so tirelessly throughout the archipelago.
As reported by the Adventure Travel Trade Association, IGTOA, in partnership with the Galapagos National Park Directorate and World Wildlife Fund Ecuador, is working to “improve the quality of guiding in the Galapagos Islands as part of a broader long term effort to preserve and protect the world famous archipelago.”
As a part of this, “IGTOA initiated, cosponsored, and helped organize a “Training of Trainers” guide training certification course in late 2015 in Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz. The course was offered to 10 elite national park guides who, as a result of the training, are now officially certified Galapagos National Park Guide Trainers.”
How about a big CONGRATULATIONS to our guides, as well as everyone who participated in this incredible effort! We truly feel that our guides are the greatest asset we have as ambassadors of conservation and protectors of wildlife through all their education, guidance and support during all of our amazing Galapagos Adventure tours.
