Sea Kayaking

With thousands of miles of rocky shorelines and sandy beaches abounding with wildlife, the Galapagos Islands are a sea kayaker’s paradise. Kayaking offers active travelers the opportunity to get an eye- and sea-level perspective on the islands that most travelers miss. Understandably, the Galapagos National Park Service carefully regulates sea kayaking within the marine reserve. While some cruise ships, especially the larger ones, carry kayaks on board, they can generally only be used for brief excursions in conjunction with regular shore landings. If you’re interested in doing some serious sea kayaking, you should book a designated Galapagos kayaking adventure, with a company that has been granted special kayaking permits by the park.
